Firm OverviewMichael E. Zapin, Esq. was admitted to practice law in New York State in 1992. At that time, he was also admitted to practice law before the Eastern District of New York and Southern District of New York federal courts, where he remains a member in good standing to this date. Subsequently, Michael E. Zapin, Esq. was admitted to practice law in Florida State in April of 2007. In that year, he was also admitted to practice law before the Southern District of Florida federal court, and remains a member in good standing to this date. After spending several years working in a small to mid-size general practice/bankruptcy boutique, Michael Zapin founded The Law Offices of Michael E. Zapin in 1997. Initially located in the heart of downtown New York City, the firm handled both consumer bankruptcy matters and commercial collection matters. (Our clients appreciate that when they come to us for consumer bankruptcy services, they also benefit from our wealth of knowledge concerning the collection process generally). As the firm slowly began to focus more and more on the consumer aspects of its practice, it relocated to the heart of Staten Island, New York, in Heartland Village, where it remained highly accessible to a wide range of hard working, middle class individuals, drawing its client base from throughout the five boroughs of New York City. The offices finally expanded to the Southern Florida region in 2007, as the demand for consumer-based bankruptcy services heightened, as a result of the economic downturn still plaguing many of Florida's residents. Our mantra has always been that there is life after bankruptcy. Everyone deserves a second chance and a fresh start.
